Community Compassion Initiative (CCI) is a community-based charity in Nigeria that focuses on quality education for children and economic empowerment for youths, to catalyze opportunities, economic independence, poverty alleviation, and a safe society. We believe that education is the foundation of progress in any society. When we educate our society’s children, we give them wings to fly and satisfy the soul of our society. Also, when we mobilize skills, talents, and experiences of young indigent people, we create the opportunity for them to have a shot at life and to thrive, thereby alleviating poverty and crime.

CCI was founded by Elder Joseph O. Ezeagwula out of his compassion for the underprivileged and underserved in society. He started by supporting children, widows, and the elderly in his rural village community, using his personal funds and then began to share the vision with his immediate family and close friends who supported the vision to alleviate the plights of the underprivileged. CCI has extended to providing sustainable educational assistance to children and adolescents in underserved slum communities, and empowering young people with vocational and entrepreneurial skills. CCI leverages its relationships with diverse community partners to drive its mission.
